For individuals with other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider. If you can access out=of-network benefits, I can provide you with a receipt (superbill), which you can them submit for reimbursement. Depending on your plan. your out-of-network benefits may cover part of my fee. If you participate in a flexible health spending account, you may be able to use those funds to cover psychotherapy expenses. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider prior to starting therapy to determine if they will reimburse you for an out-of-network provider.
Why do you use telehealth?
Telehealth is a secure, confidential, and convenient way to conduct psychotherapy. You can have appointments in the safety and security of your own home without having to travel to an office. It also allows you flexibility to have your sessions when and where is more convenient, such as during your lunch hour without taking up time to travel to and from your appointment. Telehealth also allows me to see patients anywhere in Texas. So if you feel I have services that are a good fit for you, you can see me from anywhere in the state without traveling to Corpus Christi.
Is telehealth confidential?
I use a HIPAA-compliant portal (through Simple Practice) that allows for confidential and secure video-conferencing and messaging. If you would like to contact me, I recommend calling me at (361) 300-5251 or using the secure message feature in your Client Portal. I do not recommend sending me personal health information through email or other messaging systems, such as Facebook, because I cannot verify that they are secure and confidential.
How do I contact you after hours or for an emergency?
For non-emergent issues, such as scheduling questions, you can call me at (361-300-5251 and leave a voicemail. If you or a loved one is having a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Trained clinicians are available through this hotline 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
